DAY 1 LIMA PICK UP Reception at the Lima airport and transfer to your hotel located in Miraflores, Afterwards you'll have the rest of the day to relax and explore the city. Night at your hotel. DAY 2 AREQUIPA (B) Breakfast first and after a previously arranged time our transportation will come over to pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to the airport to board the flight to Arequipa (airfare not included). Upon arrival reception and transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon you'll have the city tour including a visit to the Santa Catalina monastery. The city has fine spanish buildings and many old and interesting churches built of sillar, a pearly white volcanic material almost exclusively used in the construction of Arequipa city. The Santa Catalina Convent is by far the most remarkable site, opened in 1970 after 4 centuries of mistery. Overnight in Arequipa. DAY 3 COLCA CANYON (B,L,D) After breakfast and around 7:30a.m., we'll pick up you from your hotel to visit the Colca valley, North of Arequipa is the higher course of the Colca river valley which has a deep canyon know among rafters, beginning in the cold puna and running down to warmer regions, showing its great scenic beauty and cultural attractions on the way, you'll observe llamas, alpacas, and vicuñas in their natural environment as well as several flora and andean birds. Upon arrival in Chivay, you'll enjoy lunch and afterwards you will be accommodated at your hotel. In the afternoon you'll enjoy the local natural hot springs. Overnight in Chivay. DAY 4 COLCA CANYON (B,L) After breakfast we'll pick up you from your hotel to begin a guided tour to the beautiful Colca Valley. Where we will be able to see from the Cruz del Condor the impressive andean bird (the Condor) flying in its natural habitat. After watching this, we will take you to the town of Maca where you'll visit the local church and rest before continuing. Upon arrival to the town of Chivay, you'll enjoy a nice lunch and immediately after this we'll go back to your hotel in Arequipa. You will be in Arequipa by 5:00p.m. Overnight in Arequipa. DAY 5 PUNO (B) In the morning after your breakfast transfer out to the airport to board the flight to Puno (airfare not included), upon arrival transfer to the hotel, rest of the day for acclimatization and relax with altitude. Overnight in Puno. DAY 6 UROS AND TAQUILE ISLANDS (B,L) After breakfast the guide will come for you to your hotel to pick you up at 6:30 a.m., after a 2 hour motorboat ride, you will be arriving at Uros islands. Fishermen and hunters inhabit the floating islands of the Uros. The dense roots that the plants develop support the islands. The roofs are waterproof and the houses are extremely humid because of the surrounding water. Then we'll visit the Taquile island, where we'll have lunch in the cooperative restaurant. There is also a cooperative shop on the plaza that sells exceptional wool goods which are of a very fine quality and expensive too. On Taquile there are numerous pre-Inca and Inca ruins as well as Inca terraces. After enjoying visiting this islands we will return to Puno during the afternoon. Overnight at the hotel (B,L) DAY 7 CUSCO ( B,L ) After breakfast in your hotel we'll board a tourist bus towards Cusco. During this travel you will see some beautiful landscapes while crossing the scenic high Andes landscapes only dotted by small villages and herds of llamas and vicuñas. Upon arrival transfer to the hotel Overnight in cusco. DAY 8 CUSCO CITY TOUR (B) You will have a free morning for acclimatization and to enjoy the city, through the afternoon you'll start a guided city tour visiting the most important places of Cusco. This tour starts at 14:00hrs. and you'll visit the following sites: Cathedral, the Temple of Qoricancha, and the Inca ruins of Sacsayhuaman, Q'enqo, Puca Pucara, and Tambomachay. This tour will let you learn about the Inca culture as well as some aspects of the conquest of the Inca’s Empire and the colonial era. The tour ends around 18:00hrs. and you'll be brought back to your hotel. Night at your hotel. DAY 9 MACHU PICCHU (B, L) Early in the morning transportation to the train station in order to board the train towards Aguas Calientes village. As soon as you arrive in Aguas Calientes at 10:50a.m we'll board a bus to Machupicchu city known as the lost city of the Incas, where you'll have a 2 hours guided tour of the most important rooms and temples, after this you will have time free to explore by yourself around the lost city of the Incas and then come back to Aguas Calientes whenever you decide. The departure is again by bus to Aguas Calientes village and then back to Cusco on train. Lunch is included at the Sanctuary Lodge. DAY 10 SACRED VALLEY TOUR (B,L) Early in the morning after breakfast, we will pick you up from your hotel in order to start a guided tour through the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Our guide will explain you about all the archeological sites during the trip; you'll visit in this tour Pisac remains and the Indian market of the same name. After lunch, (this lunch is not included), you'll visit the archeological site of Ollantaytambo and finally visit the incredible Inca remains of Chinchero. You'll be back in Cusco at around 7:00p.m. Overnight in Cusco. DAY 11 TRANSFER OUT ( B ) In the morning after your breakfast we will transfer you to the airport to board the flight to Lima (airfare not included) in time to get your international flight connection.
